Reviews FAQ

Here's our quick primer about tippl reviews

General

What are tippl reviews?

They are reviews and ratings left by genuine customers. Reviews can only be left after someone has paid a gratuity; this makes it much harder for businesses to generate large numbers of fake positive reviews, and much easier for us to spot and remove them.

How can I leave a review?

After you have paid a gratuity, you can leave a star rating and write a review, no sign in required! Some companies still prefer TripAdvisor or Google reviews, in which case we will give you a link to their platform instead.

How can I view a review?

Reviews left on tippl are currently visible via widgets on the webpage of the company. These reviews can be verified as genuine by clicking the 'ti' logo and viewing the corresponding review on tippl. We will launch a review portal soon where you can browse reviews from any company...

What makes tippl reviews different?

Authenticity. It is much harder for companies to generate large numbers of fake reviews on tippl than it is on Google or TripAdvisor.

Convenience. Customers do not need to sign in or create accounts.

My reviews

I'm an employee, can I see reviews?

Yes, just sign in to your account and head over to the 'reviews' tab. You can see reviews that your customers left after they paid you a gratuity.

I'm an employee, why would I want to share reviews?

Typically, you wouldn't. But if you're looking for a new job — either because you're moving on or because your work is seasonal — then you might want to share reviews with a prospective employer. Reviews and ratings are better than references as they come straight from your customers!

I'm an employee, how can I share my reviews?

Just sign in to your account and head over to the 'reviews' tab. There you can create a link that goes directly to a stream of your reviews.

Whilst reviews are by their very nature public, personal review pages like this can only be created by you. You can also set an expiry date after which the link will stop working. This gives you a modicum of control over who can see all your reviews.

Can I select which reviews I share?

No, that would undermine the whole premise! It's all or nothing.

We wouldn't worry if there are some bad reviews. Firstly, no one is perfect. Secondly, sometimes customers can be fickle and impossible to please!
