Giving tips

Do I need to register to pay a tip?

No!

Do you pass on the full tip?

Absolutely! After all, you decided that they deserve the tip, not us!

When will they receive the tip?

It will show in their tippl account immediately. However, it normally takes around 5 working days for the money to work its way through the Canadian banking system to tippl. We then pay them the money on their next scheduled pay date.

What is the processing fee for?

We need to cover our operating costs. There are unavoidable costs associated with all online transactions — running a secure banking system costs money. To be completely transparent, we clearly display the processing fee to you before payment.

What will I see on my bank statement?

This depends on who the tip is being paid to. We'll let you know during the checkout process, and also state this in your payment receipt.

Is my transaction secure?

Yes. Payment is made through a global payments infrastructure company who are PCI level 1 certified. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry. Tippl does not store any of your personal details.

Can I tip someone if I didn't get their code?

Yes. You can find employees who use tippl on their employers tippl page. Lookout for a "ti" icon on their website or in booking emails - this will link to their page listing staff members you can tip.

Can I get a refund?

Everyone makes mistakes, so we offer refunds within 5 days of you paying a tip. To request a refund just contact us with your order number and we'll process it as quickly as possible. For more information please see our terms and conditions.
