Grouse Mountain Resorts are using tippl
tippl helps staff who otherwise wouldn't be able to receive cashless tips
In a restaurant, you're asked to tip when you pay for your meal.*
After you've been on an adventure — where you spent a lot of time interacting with your guides, and they kept you safe in an environment more hazardous than a comfortable restaurant — if you don't carry cash you can't pay a tip even if you want to.
This dichotomy is what we set out to fix when we created tippl.
We're very excited that Grouse Mountain Resorts are using tippl this summer. Now hard-working guides are able to receive tips just like waiting staff. And happy customers are able to tip their guides if they want to.

Grouse Mountain, one of Vancouver's premier attractions
For those unfamiliar Grouse Mountain is one of Vancouver's premier attractions. Grouse Mountain is located just 15 minutes from downtown Vancouver and is the perfect place for a fun day out. They have a variety of outdoor adventures to choose from, one of which is ziplining, which is where this whole journey started for us...
After an epic ziplining experience on Grouse Mountain last year we wanted to tip our guides but were unable to because, as usual, we weren't carrying cash. This was the third time this sort of thing had happened in as many weeks, and so we set about making it easier for people like us to pay tips to great guides like those who work at Grouse Mountain.
Now, several months on, it's really rewarding for us to see our creation helping the exact people we had in mind when we created tippl: happy tourists, and brilliant guides :)
* This is something we'd like to change. With tippl there is no need to prompt (or bully!) customers into leaving a tip when they pay for a meal by credit card. Customers can pay a cashless tip separately, without their server watching on and judging them.

Adam is an engineer who enjoys a good adventure, and lately he has started to become an expert in all things tipping. After a series of separate adventures with great guides where he found it difficult to pay a tip he decided to create tippl.
